Last year I was the sixth grade teacher at Summit Elementary. I had a wonderful class that was truly dedicated to becoming the best students they could be. As a class we dedicated countless hours to practicing and improving our reading, writing, and math skills. My students also spent several hours a week studying and practicing these skills at home. When it came time for the big day (AIMS Testing), we were ready to go! When the results came back, we had exceeded our own expectations! As a result of all our hard work, I and seven of my students were invited to attend a National Junior Honor’s Society Conference and Award Ceremony for The Leaders of Tomorrow. I will be attending part of the conference in Washington DC as a chaperon and award recipient for my classes’ outstanding academic achievement on the AIMS Test. We wanted to share some of the study tips we utilized to prepare us for success. -Mrs.Ray
Jonathan Arroyo: It is important to get plenty of rest the night before a big test. Also, remember to be confident and stay positive during the test.
Joshua Arroyo: Study everyday even if it is only for a short period of time. This will keep the information fresh in your mind. Don’t forget to pay attention in class too!
Kassandra Barrera: To be successful on the AIMS test you need to dedicate yourself to paying attention in class and spend time studying at home.
Mark Corbelli: It is important to bring a notebook to class and take notes that you can review when studying.
AJ Guerrero: Try to make sense of the question being asked and analyze what you already know. This will help you choose the most reasonable answer.
